Just before, or after, the debacle with the Ouzo at the beachside resturant we found ourselves at a beachside bar. Of course being at the number two beach and the number one party spot our desire to drink was fueled by not only the Ouzo but also a number of vodka tonics and Mythos. After a few of each we began reminiscing about New Zealand. Molly brought up a touchy subject in her eyes: The Haka. The Haka, for everyone who doesn't have a satalite or a desire to follow international rugby, is the tribal chant/dance of the Maoris that the All Blacks perform before every game. The Haka is always exciting to watch and every morning from the balcony of Cabin 40 I was able to watch our neighbors practice the Haka that they would later perform at a tourist destination in town. Apparently, with the odd hours she kept, Molly had no idea this practice was held and since then has been quite angry the information had been witheld from her. Like she would have woken up at 9am to see it happen.

The more we got talking about the Haka the more Molly and I wanted to perform it for Uncle Paul, and as it turned out, everyone else at the beach side bar. Paul was the mastermind for our new million dollar idea...or at least something to keep us busy when we're back in Sarasota with no money and no direction/job: The Haka Team. The team would learn and perform the Haka. For whom we're not sure, but at least we would have the talent to do so. We are now accepting applications for those who want to be part of the Haka Team of Sarasota. There will probably be team t-shirts and possibly a lamenated membership card. We can't promise much until we count the money from our first bake sale. Sign up early because this team is going to be hot.
