If you've researched New Zealand, as I know you have (or at least read previous log enteries), you're well aware that there is an obsene possum population that plauges this country. I think the current total is 99 billion, giving Kiwis 99 billion reasons why they hate the Australians.

Although we've lost sight of Possumy aka Terry Shivo (the dead possum that hung in front of our house) there are still many others that call the Motorpark home and keep us company on our dark walks home to cabin 40. Recently, we've had one living on our roof where he is free to run his morning wind sprints at 6am across the length of the cabin and sharpen his nails by scratching the roof for his nightly digs through the dumpster.

While he is an annoying pest, we like to think he is just up there minding his own business and warding off other evil threats. That was, however, until Possumy 2 decided to claw his way through our roof, more specifically right over Molly's bed. There is now a small hole just large enough to fit a possum hand through. We're hoping he doesn't get more bold as the days progress and try to fit his entire body through the opening.

As it stands now, there have been no more break in attempts and Molly and I have placed a faux possum tail in the hole so it hangs out (mainly in memory of Possumy 1). I don't want any of you to worry about our personal safety though. George W.'s protrait still sits next to Molly's bed to protect her and Mex and Dash have been put on 24 hour possum alert.
