Yesterday was a great day. A perfect day for a birthday celebration. Luckily there were many birthdays to be celebrated: the Queen of England, Aunt Polly, Alissa in New York, Jesse in Florida, and mine. Of all the great people to honor, we decided to celebrate my birthday.

Molly and Cathryn had a great breakfast planned to start the day and we happily ate fruit and drank champagne while we watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The rest of the day was spent making earrings to accompany our outfits for the evening. Mine of course were made in the spirit of the artist Kandinsky and also to match the hot pink shoes given to me by my two favorite roommates. And of course everyone knew exactly who I was talking about when I mentioned Kandinsky...

It was off to dinner at Brittania on a recommendation of a friend. We, all dressed up, walked in expecting a nice little resturant to accompany our fashion trends, but as it turned out we walked on to a ship. The whole resturant was made to look like you were eating below deck. Complete with a musty smell, fish nets, canons, waitresses wearing black and white stripped t-shirts, we ordered things like Captain's King Prawns, Drake's Steak, Scallywag Cheesecake, and Neptune's Chowder. We couldn't get over the fact that we were on a ship and kept expecting a peg leg or an eye patch, but instead were given a "captain" with an interesting sense of humor and waitresses who took the whole "I'm a waitress in a resturant that looks like a ship" seriously. The food was amazing, but I will have to say that we will never forget eatting in a ship. Molly even thought we might get sea sick by the meal's end.

Afterwards we met up with Brian and had insanely expensive, but totally worth it, cocktails at Bar Up before heading to Winnie's and drinking drinks that we could afford: $2 beers. Everyone was there to play and ready to have a good time.

Highlights of the evening: Having some random boy decide to dance on the table to Billy Jean, our friend Patrick trying to convince me and Molly to go naked tandem bungee jumping, the pictures of me taking and hating a backdraft shot and Brian's look of success, dancing on the bar to "baby got back" and getting a free bottle of champagne, dancing at Tardis, getting locked out of Bar Up only to call everyone on Azza's cell phone to get us in.

It was a raging success to say the least. We were home by 5am with no known injuries and no embarassing moments to recount. A success in my eyes. Everyone had a good time and we can't wait until the next reason to go out...
