*Almost all Kiwis walk around barefooted. Kenny Chesney couldn't have said it better, "No shoes, no shirt, no problem."

*1 in 15 white skinned Kiwis get skin cancer each year.

*Gum does not come in stick form.

*Harry Potter's first book is the "philospopher's stone" not "sorceror's stone."

*We met two travelers that slept in their car which was parked in the center of a roundabout (that's like getting tired and pulling up on a median for a night's sleep). They also slept in a 7-11 in Thailand. They pulled diapers from the shelf and slept in the middle of the aisle.

*Diapers are called Nappies.

*The hottest thing is Tomato Sauce Chips (kinda like the ketchup chip sandwhich from St.augustine)

*"The Tree" by Dana Lyons was spotted in two NZ bookstores.

*Exit signs are green.

*There are no pennies. When your total comes to $9.98 they round to $10 and that 2 cents goes to the government.

*You have the choice to use a half tank or a whole tank when flushing a toilet.

*You can't burn or tear paper currency.

*Movie theatres assign your seats when you purchase your ticket.

*Dates are written day/month/year.

*The beginning of an internet domain is pronounced "dub dub dub" instead of "www."

*The letter z is pronounced "zed."

*Mayo looks like conditioner.

*We met a Canadian who's brother was Matthew in Anne of Green Gables.

*"Everyone and their dog was in Lord of the Rings." It's true.

*Facial tatoos are quite popular. Some bars even post the sign "No hats or unsightly tatoos."

*Toilet paper comes in squares, similar to the paper that they wrap your bagel in back in the US.

*Napkins come with your meal between the plate and the food.

*On Dec.10, smoking was banned in all bars and resturants.

*Pistachios are $17.50 per kg.

*At resturants they do not bring food out at the same time. Whenever the plate is ready it will be brought to the table...regardless if everyone elses is ready.

*It is called a Family Name instead of a Last Name.

*Kiwis say "eh" more than Candians.

*The sun sets around 9:30pm.

*Century 21 sells property in NZ.

*There is no Taco Bell.

*Meet pies are EVERYWHERE.

*Shops close by 3pm on Saturday and don't reopen until Monday or Tuesday.
