Where I stayed

Greetings from Switzerland!

Has time ever flown by since our last post. 2 MONTHS!!! wow. We have been pretty busy at work as February was the peak vacation season for Europeans. Depending on the week, a different region of the continent floods the slopes in our little corner of the Alps. At one point it was so busy it was almost easier to snowboard on top of all of the people rather than the snow. Needless to say, Megan has been busy serving the rich Barons in the VIP restaurant (and breaking a few hearts from what I hear... "Who is that stunning server" has been uttered a few times now). Sorry boys, this one is taken by the "Chef du Fromage" aka resident cheese cook (See pic of the cheeseman in action).

Now that the peak season is over, we have had a little more time to relax and play a little. Our friend, and in house outdoor guru, Matt has even had the chance to take me ice climbing. What an experience! Incredibly difficult but intensly exhilarating at the same time. The pictures of this outing are of Matt. When I was doing it (albeit briefly) I was too busy trying not to die to take pictures. Pretty wild stuff.

We have both had a few opportunities to go out and hit the slopes. It is absolutely stunning up there and it is actually quite difficult to keep your eyes on where you are going as the views are so beautiful. You can see all the way to France from the resort. Fabulous.

Megan has even found the time to bake some of her fabulously tasty creations much to the delight of many a traveller that pass through the kitchen to investigate that heavenly smell.

Living at Chalet Martin has been simply amazing. Not only is it the best hostel we have been to, but the incredibly amazing staff and owners have become wonderful friends. Living in a place with such a perfect atmosphere is truly special. With the added experience of meeting and bonding with countless travellers of both diverse origins and nature has been unforgettable. We have made tons of friends from all over the world. Together we have managed to have a few themed parties over the past little while that have given us many good times. We had a "Red and Pink Valentine's Day" party, a "Summer versus Winter" party (the weather was a little confused as to what season it was so we decided to dress accordingly), and of course we squeezed in a St. Patrick's day party as well. All good fun with great people.

The ski season is officially over April 14, just in time to get trained up to help out around the hostel for a little while (until mid-June). We have been truly lucky to see and experience all that we have thus far in our adventure. There are no words to describe how wonderful it has been to see and do all of this - together. We can't wait to see what the next part of our journey brings. Hopefully some emails and pictures of you as well - hint hint.

We miss you a ton. The amount of people that we miss seems to be 'growing' as well. KRISTA IS PREGNANT!!! sorry, still a little excited about that one.

Miss you all.
Megan and Kevin
