We couldn't have picked a more beautiful day to drive across the country (the idea of driving from one side of a country to another in 2.5 hours seems a little strange as that is how long it takes to drive to the other side of Toronto some days). The Scottish highlands are absolutely breathtaking. We barely said a word to each other as we were both just in awe staring out the window. We took a break to search for the loch ness monster but could only catch substitutes (see pictures). One thing that did surprise us was the size of loch ness. It took about an hour to drive the length of it. The whole way was beautiful of course.
We arrived in Inverness and only got lost for a few minutes. We strolled the town and it is a very nice mix of old and new. There are a lot of old Scottish shops and markets mixed in with massive shopping centres.
One of the better things about globlization is the fact that we, as two canadians, had one of the best Thai meals of our life, in an Irish pub, smack in the middle of the Scottish highlands. We spent the night listening to traditional Scottish music. What else is there to say?
HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYONE!!!!
Edinburgh here we come!
