We picked a beautiful day to drive here. Pouring rain all day. We made it late afternoon and it was still raining so we decided to your the Oban distillery. A neat little operation with international recognition but only 7 employees total. Free samples at the end of course.
After that we watched pirates of the Caribbean in the smallest theatre in the world... We think. About 15 seats and a screen not much larger than some big screen TVs.
The next day we took a ferry to the small island of Kerrera. The "ferry" consisted of a small motor boat and lasted about 45 seconds, but the island itself was breathtaking.  The island is truly unspoiled natural beauty.  It is only about 10 miles long with no more than 20 residents (we think). They do not allow cars to come on the island and it is full of history. A perfectly situated castle (see pictures) dominates the western coast.  We stopped for refreshments at a little tea shop that seems to be the only business on the island. The food was fabulous and we were served by a very nice guy from Canada (nfld). It was so quiet on the island it was a little scary. No traffic or even people for that matter. Just nature, although it was a little difficult at times to look around and take it all in as we were busy dodging sheep and/or their by-products.

Off to Inverness!
