So we got up at a reasonable hour to make it to breakfast on time. Our flight to Santorini was leaving at 2.25 so we didn't need to be at the airport until about 1.00 so had a couple of hours to fill in.

After waking up after probably the best nights sleep I have had in about a month, not because of the room however.. our aircon didnt work so it reminded me exactly of home!!! No air con, no fan and well we gambled with our lives and slept with the balcony door open but all was good.

We put our baggage into holding and headed out for the morning to my favourite part of Athens (that I have seen so far) Monastiraki. Leaving the hotel there was only a little bit of blood on the pavement from the night before but we have discovered that the streets are relatively safe until about 11.00am when the underworld crawl out of the corners they retired in for the night!

The metro in Athens is awesome, and so cheap. When we arrived on Saturday we bought a 24 hour ticket for 3 Euro which we used up until we left. Two stops away is Monastiraki where we went to the Athens Flea Markets, which reminded me of something out of Harry Potter with the alley of all different stores where they get their brooms and stuff from.

Anyway, the Flea Markets are full of Jewelry stores, Shoe stores, Bead stores and other odds and ends. I nearly had a heart attack when we went into a shoe store which sold Havianas and Billabong Thongs which you can pick up for an easy $25 EURO!!! I nearly had a heart attack. If ever thinking about travelling to Europe, don't forget your pluggers!! I managed to make it out of the Flea Marketing without buying anything.. Shock Horror!!!

We headed on the metro on the way back to the hotel to pick up our baggage and head to the airport. We decieded to try a different way home off the beaten track, through what the man at the hotel said was the "nicer" side of the town... turns out it is worse than the way we were walking and stank and of course walked past a couple more drug deals!!! Oh got to love it.

At the airport we arrived and checked in and head through duty free picking up a snack along the way. Mel you will love this... To my surprise there was a Gloria Jeans there!! So after lining up for a little while I went to order (they still have mint bomb mocha chillers Jess!!!) and they had no Mocha Chiller mixture :( I was crushed... so we went in search of another place to get a snack before jumping on the plane and I discovered this thing called a FREDDO... it is a coffee chiller but OH MY GOD.. it was orgasmic.. Imagine the really expensive Gelato you get from those special Ice Cream stores in like a coffee hazelnut flavour basically melted and little into a thickshake and add a couple of extra shots of coffee!!! AMAZING!

So we adventually made it through customs to get to the plane after Michelle had her sunscreen taken off her... We got on a little plane and headed off on our journey to Santorini...
