I chose to stop at Busch Gardens because it had been a long time since I'd been to an amusement park. After arriving, I went to one of the automated ticket machines to avoid the lines. After buying my ticket I walked towards the entrance gate and what should I see but a military welcome kiosk off to the side. I was able to get free admission and a full refund on the ticket I just purchased, so here's a big thank you to Busch Gardens for saving me about $80.
The park was not busy at all, making it possible for me to ride in the very front of every roller-coaster in the park. A few of them I rode twice, and one I had entirely to myself since I got in right after they finished some maintenance.
I didn't spend much time on the animals around the park. After watching and learning about these animals in the wild and seeing them living in such vast expanses of free land; seeing them in parks and zoos is just depressing.
I left the park around five, hoping that there was a beach close by where I might be able to catch the sunset. Unfortunately, the nearest beach I could find wasn't very near, and the sun moved a little quicker than I did. I soon abandoned the attempt and pointed myself back south for Everglades City. I got there around 10:30 to discover the nearest Wal-Mart, truck stop, or other place to park was quite a ways back. There was a heavy police presence in town, so I decided to make my way back to the nearest Wal-Mart rather than risk parking somewhere else and getting woken up by a mag-lite.
