Well, here I go. Although I'm not officially starting my trip at this point, I suppose in a way I am because after about three months at home I am off again, and I won't be back until July. In actuality, I have some business to attend to in Sioux Falls, SD and some family I'd like to visit in St. Peter, MN before I really start to hit the road with a purpose. Time is growing shorter every day, and I have realized the first half of this trip may be a bit rushed, but that's no reason not to do it.

My last night at home was nothing short of surreal. My parents are currently on a plane somewhere between Minneapolis and Mexico and my little sister is staying with a friend. Spending my last night at home for five months in a big empty house on Valentine's Day. Strange, yes, but having the last couple days to myself did help make preparations easier and goodbye a little less bitter. Plus, I'm always happy to see my parents traveling and enjoying themselves.

I'll be back next week, when I will hopefully be rushing headlong into this new adventure.
