Nothing much happened this day but a bunch of driving. We made it to Wellington around 5 pm. Great bus driver; we had lots of fun on the bus. Brief stop at midday to see the snow capped volcanoes. I had only an hour to see the national museum in Wellington. The giant squid specimen is definitely the highlight.

Wellington was fairly cold and miserable, and everything got colder as we went further south.
