Huka Falls and Lake Taupo

Right before Taupo are the Huka falls, where we stopped for some pictures. They're called the Niagara falls of New Zealand. While they're quite pretty, they're no Niagara.
Late start from Rotorua meant there wasn't much time to do anything in Taupo proper. I snapped some pictures of the lake before sundown and grabbed dinner. Back at the dorms around 9,
I talked to some fascinating people who were also staying there. One of my roommates was a hard-drinking Saudi. I also chatted with a Dutch woman who was on vacation for eight months. When I met her, she was expressing amazement at a Russian boy who was traveling by himself
despite speaking almost no English.
In bed by 11, up at 7 that morning for the 8:30 trip to Wellington.
