Vientiane, Lao Peoples Dem Rep

We arrived at noon on the ninth, and left early the next morning. I wish I had had one more day to explore Vientiane, although I did manage to see all the major attractions. After getting to an ATM and snagging a quick Indian lunch, I visited the Wat Si Saket, Haw Pha Kaew, and Wat Si Muang before stopping to recharge my batteries at an Internet cafe. I then ventured out to view the black stupa, Pha That Luang, and climb the Patuxai. Alas, my aching feet required me to catch a tuk-tuk back to the hotel rather than walk the 2-3 km. I finished the day with a foot massage at a local parlor just across the street. Less than $10 for a full hour massage--quite nice! After dinner with most of the group, several of us wandered the streets for a bit before retiring for another bus ride the next day.
