Kota Kinabalu is really just a stopover point for me to be able to climb Mount Kinabalu. Its not big place, you could walk from one end to the other in about a half hour. Its full of new but crappy buildings, mainly because the city was leveled by bombings in world war II.

There's loads of mobile phone shops, at least every second or third shop sells them. And theres almost as many shoe shops too. Kinda weird actually because it seems like you can't buy much else.

Like I said, we're here for me to climb the mountain. Aishling decided to stay in town while I headed off. I don't blame her really, I'd say she's have enough of my action man adventures to last her a lifetime!!
