Okay, my journey began this morning at 8am.  Terry dropped me off at the Harrisburg airport and I took the "puddle jumper" onto Philly.  I then headed out to Boston.  All went well and was uneventful.  That is, until I boarded the plane to head out to Boston!

The pilot came on and said that we would have to wait about 45 minutes before getting a place on the runway.  Well, he later came back and told us it would be another hour.  Shortly after he said that since the wait would now be indefinite, he would take us back to the terminal.  Those that wanted to get off could, but they would not be allowed to reboard.

About 20 minutes later, we arrived  back at the gate.  They decided that we could all get off to grab something to eat.  But, they only gave us 10 minutes.  So, I didn't want to risk it.  I ate my Luna Bar and waited some more.

He then told us that we would have to refuel.  (See, we did have longer to be out, but they didn't tell us that! )  UGH!!!

Finally, we pushed away and headed out.  THREE HOURS after we were supposed to have departed, we finally did!  Actually, it didn't work out too bad for me.  I originally had a 5 hour layover in Boston before heading out to Shannon, so I just waited on the plane instead of at the airport.  I touched down in Boston sometime around 5, took the shuttle to the international terminal, got my final boarding pass, grabbed a quick sandwich and then it was time to head off to Shannon.  Our plane took off on time!  Yeah!!!

We touched down in Shannon at 6:00 am, their time.  It's now 2:07, your time, so if anyone is up late tonight you can read this.

We are waiting for another plane to arrive from NYC before we can depart.  I found out that they had free wireless, so here I am.

It's about a 1 hour 1/2 trip to Galway, where I will be staying the entire time.  Everyone that I have met seems nice so far.  I think that almost 80% of the people are from Massachussets or New Hamphshire.

Looks like we're getting ready to go!  Raining here...no surprise!!!

Happy 4th
I am enjoying reading about your trip so far. I would love to hear how the Ireland school system is compares to the American one.

Sorry to hear about the hair dryer. Bum Deal! Never a dull moment, huh?

I am glad you are having fun and getting out to do things while there.
