Today I did a Hollywood tour and the mini bus picked me up at about.9.30am. There was about 5 of us. The guy taking us had long grey hair and a beard. He also meantioned that he had a small part in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. He was the scariest driver. Wasn't sure if we would make it to LA alive!!

First we were dropped off at Hollywood boulevard. It was a foggy day so we couldn’t see the Hollywood sign. Apparently on a clear day you can see the sign from pretty much anywhere in LA.

I wandered around looking at the walk of fame. It wasn’t as glamorous in Hollywood as I thought it would be. There were a lot of homeless people around.

I went to the Chinese theatre to look at the movie stars hand and foot prints. There were plenty of people dressed up as stars and super heroes. Apparently they are mainly homeless people who dress up each day and live off the tips that tourists give them for getting a photo with them. I even saw the guy dressed up as Johnny Depp (pirate) fixing up his eyeliner in the Sephora store near the Kodak theatre.

After buying some souvenirs I went back to the bus. We drove through Beverly Hills and saw some really nice houses. Next stop was Rodeo Drive. The mayor of Beverly Hills was very friendly.  Actually a bit too friendly!! Was really nice here. There was a huge Christmas tree and plenty of decorations.

We drove down the sunset strip before heading to Venice Beach. It was a really nice beach but really quiet as it was winter. They had life guard towers everywhere which reminded me of Baywatch. It was a little chilly but the sun was still out. I could see Santa Monica Pier but it would have been too far to walk in the little time I had.

After this it was time to head back to the hotel as it would take about 1 and a half hours to get back in the traffic. When I got back to the hotel I started to get organised as the Contiki tour started tomorrow.

When Teresse got back we went to the meeting room as we had a pre departure meeting.

It was raining when we left our room. Apparently it doesn’t rain much ever in LA. We were a little late. Our tour manager was going over a few things. We had to sign a sheet and then we were free to go back to the hotel.

I finished packing and then decided to get an early night as we had to be at the bus at 7.00am ready to leave in the morning.
