We're in Bangkok and it's very humid but not particularly sunny. Just going for a little walk results in a very sweaty back. We can quite easily find sanctuary and air conditioning in internet cafes and shops.
We are staying in Sukhumvit, after advice from Theresa's work colleague Caroline. There are lots of shops nearby so Theresa is happy!
After taking a little walk up the road last night, we managed to arrange our onward travel to Cambodia this morning. We need to wait to get all the visas sorted and we'll be heading off on saturday morning to Siem Reap, close to the Angkor Wat.
Took a trip to Jim Thompson's house today. We had never heard of him before but now we know he was an American who came to live in thailand after WWII and moved some traditional Thai houses from several parts of the country to form one big house. He also managed to raise the profile of thai silk and increased its production.
