First off we left out the doors for our last day in Venice. We arrived at the Galleria de Accademia, which is Venice's museum of Fine Arts. It had lots of famous works including those of Titian and Bellini. Sorry no pictures were allowed :(. Next we went back to St. Marks sqaure, this time to go inside the family basilica. The floor was masterfully decorated with gorgeous marble from all over Venice's once very large trading empire. No pictures were allowed inside their either! It was a bummer for nice pictures today. After that we went to the Ducal Palace and visited the apartments of the Doge (Once the President of Venice) as well as the Councils rooms as well as the state prison and court system! It was all in one really really pretty building. After that me and Ben navigated the city of Venice on our own and made the walk all the way from one side of the island (Ducal Palace) back to our hotel! Phew it was exhausting!
Tomorrow we leave for Florence, Tuesday for Pisa and Wednesday for Siena and Thursday for Rome!
