Michelle:    Well, we made it to Amsterdam! We took a "ferry" here over night on Saturday. It ended up being like a cruise ship, complete with private cabins and bathrooms. The ferry left from London at 11:45pm and docked in the Netherlands early in the morning. We met some guys on the ferry. Three were traveling together from California and one was traveling by himself from Canada. We all hung out our first day in Amsterdam, spending the day as the locals do. The next day Diane and I rented bicycles and cruised around the city.
Amsterdam is probably the best city I've been to on this trip so far. It is so cute, friendly, chill, and safe feeling. There are water canals everywhere, dividing blocks all over the city. And I'm pretty positive there are more bicycles than people in this city! EVERYONE rides a bicycle. I am not exaggerating. There are well carved out bike paths and everyone, all ages and types of people are on their bikes. Bikes have the right of way everywhere, which makes riding them pretty easy. Anyway, Diane and I saw the city on bikes while Andre was off on his own that day, seeing the city on foot I think. Amanda and our new friend Mike, the Canadian from the ferry, went to the Anne Frank "huis." D and Dre also went to the Van Gogh museum. We all went to the Red Light District last night which is pretty much what I imagined. Very shocking, intriguing, and exciting. I think those are the right words...
Today Andre and I rode bikes around the city. Only a couple minor almost-disasters... (haha) and I'm not sure what everyone else is up to. We are meeting up for dinner tonight. Like I said before, Amsterdam is a really cool city- not what I thought before coming. I just thought people like to come here because everything is legal but now I realize that the city itself is gorgeous and there's all sorts of stuff to do. I definitely love it here. Tomorrow we are taking a train to Cologne, Germany so I'm sure I'll write again then. Love you all, Michelle.

GREETINGS FROM AMANDA!!!
Hey guys!!! Yes, we are in Amsterdam, and I think Michelle is extremely accurate in her description of the city as "chill". That is exactly how I would describe it as well. The main form of transportation here is bikes, its awesome. Everyone seems very relaxed and down to earth and calm, nothing like the insanity and craziness of London and the people there. Its a nice change.
It feels really good to be on the 'main'land'as we've been calling it. From here on out we can start utilizing our rail pass which is awesome and will save us so much money. Andre and Michelle and Diane tease me about being so cheap all the time, but I am on a very limited budget, and my credit card is for EMERGENCY use only. The UK is effing expensive and it definately drained all of our budgets a bit more then was expected, but the worst is over and it should be quite a bit less expensive from here on out :)
We are headed to Cologne, Germany this afternoon. Our train ride should be about 2 and half hours long, not too bad. I'm sure we shall manage to keep ourselves entertained, we always do :) I'm excited, even though I know next to nothing about Germany, which is sad, because apparently I'm quite a bit German, and I know zero about my heritage! Suppose I will learn.
I am missing you all like mad, but I make due, knowing I will see you all in just over a month. Plus I have about a gagillion things to distract me which makes this whole being away from all the people I love for an extended period of time a bit less traumatic.
Next time you hear from me I'll be in Germany!!!! Jealous much?? I'm jealous of myself :)
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Diane:
Hello everyone!  Amsterdam totally rules!  It is a gorgeous city.  The main train station, called Central Station, is located right on the water and is also the heart of the city.  It is surrounded bz the downtown and tourist areas, including the Red Light district of course, where we all took a nice little course on sexual education (PG13, of course).  All throughout the downtown areas and beyond there are canals that run in a semi circle surrounding the Central Station, it really is a cool set up for a city.  It is also very quaint and charming, the buildings are very old and sturdy, and everyone rides bikes.  Michelle suggested that there may possibly be more bikes in Amsterdam than people to ride them, and I think she may be right.  Andre and I saw the Van Gogh museum, which was incredible (though starry starry night lives in New York).  I saw Rembrandt's Night Watch at the Rijksmuseum, which was amazing as well.  Michelle and I rented bikes and rode all around the city one day, the bikes in Holland are so comfortable:  the seats are parallel with the ground so instead of leaning forward over the handlebars, you are sitting straight up on an ultra cushy seat.  Me and our new buddy Mike went out to a show the last night and I got a little too drunk and listened to goofy pop music.  It was awesome.  I guess that's all for now, take good care and peace out!
