Why does the airport have to be so far away from everything?

We woke up earlier than should be allowed and heading right to the airport. I easily checked into my flight, and said a sad goodbye to Carina and Kalle before heading through security.I tried to spend some of my extra kronor on candy at the duty free store.

I boarded my first flight, the nine hour doozy to Chicago. The flight always feels so long, but not at long as nine hours. It was a pretty good flight, lots of movies to watch and such, except for the small annoying child sitting behind me. For most of the flight he was just kicking my chair, with varying degrees of pressure. It was during the landing that I really wanted to turn around and say something. The kid would not sit down and buckle his seatbelt, and when his mother and a flight attendant forced him into his chair, he sat there and screamed for the entire fourty-five mintues. Not crying, actual screaming. When his mother eventually gave up and let him sit on her lap, the flight attendant can and told her that she had to sit the kid down, the kid screamed even more. A very painful landing.

I got through customs easily, and bought a soft pretzel and sat down to wait at my gate. I was treated to the show of a guy who was not being allowed onto his flight to Quebec city. Somehow he made it from Quebec city, to somewhere in the states, to Hawaii, and back to Chicago without a passport. I don't know why he thought that he could travel internationally without a passport, but he did miss his flight.

I nervously boarded the TINY plane that I was to be taking to Winnipeg, and was lucky enough to have a man next to me who could deal with my nervousness of being on the small plane. I short flight later, we landed in Winnipeg and two hours after that was back home in Brandon. After another 24+ hour day, I was finally home.

I had an amazing trip, and that was very much in part to all of the people that I have met while over there in Sweden. I don't know how I got so lucky to know such awesome people, but I always feel like I will be welcome and will have a place to stay when I need it. I would like to extend my deepest thanks to everyone who helped me along the way, I had yet another trip to remember. Like I have said before, I hope that it will not be long before I am once again de-boarding a plane at Arlanda.
