We woke up early in the morning, to get all of the stuff that we wanted to go in before we left to head back to Sweden in the evening. We ate breakfast and decided on our plan for the day. We wanted to walk to the monument for Finlands national composer Jean Sibelius. The pictures we saw in the brochures in our hotel room were really cool, and it was not that far or a walk away. We knew that it would take us a couple hours to walk there, see the thing, and get back.

We figured out our root there, walking by a poster for Harry Potter in Finnish (which we stopped to get pictures by) and started making our way up to the monument. On our way there we stopped by the Temppeliaukio Church (or kirkko in Finnish). This is one of Helsinkis major tourist attractions. It was blasted out of rock, and is much like a defense bunker in it design.  I had really high hopes for this, and I found it kind of a let down. Maybe it would have been more impressive during a ceremony or something, I don't know. I was just expecting something more, not quite sure what, but whatever it was wasn't there.

From here we walked the rest of the way to the Sibelius monument, taking a little trip through some less touristy areas of Helsinki. We walked through some residential areas, down a path by some water and we eventually caught up with the many tourist busses that were going around the city. We thought that we would see the monument from a while away, the pictures made it look huge and very impressive. It was impressive, but not nearly as big as I thought it would be. It was very cool when you went up close and could look up at it. After taking a few pictures and spending some time sitting by the water just relaxing we decided to walk back into the town.

We took our time getting back, got some free fanta handed to us by some Finnish people and did some shopping and got some luch at Mcdonalds. Then we started making our way to the boat. I guess this time we were on a different boat, but it must have been an exact twin to the  other one. Everything was exactly the same, down to the eateries and drinkeries. We spent some time shopping for some more tax free candy, went into the souvenir places, took a good long nap and did some more people watching. We decided to go look at the club in the boat casino, but the band playing was just not that great, and not really playing good dancing music. So we decided to head into the disco, and found that is was about three times busier than it was on wednesday. Lots of small groups of people, and one very large group of people from Australia, Canada and other places on some sort of tour of Scandinavia. I assumed right away that they were on a contiki tour, and found that I was right. It was a good night, but I found that the first night on the boat was a little more fun. It was kind of fun being the centre of attention the whole night. I did have a guy who kept coming and trying to make out with me, not even saying anything just coming and trying to jam his tounge into my mouth. It was fun to go and dance for a while that night, we even met up with dancing guy again. We ended up being there untill about three thirty in the morning, before finally decided to go to bed. Tomorrow was going to be another early morning to make it to breakfast.
