Today was the best day I've had in New York!

This morning the Lee family, Paul and I caught the bus uptown to the Rockefeller Centre to catch a glimpse of the massive Christmas tree off 'Hone Alone' and watch us people I've skate around the ice rink. It was so beautiful, especially because today was rather windy which made all the silver and gold flag decorations move perfectly!

After that, we went to Central Park. It had been snowing last night so the ground was covered with white snow and it looked like it was a movie set. I didn't get many photos today on my iPhone as it was far too cold to take my glove off to capture these moments! I got lots on the canon though! At one point in Central Park, even through my snow gloves, my fingers were going purple then blue because of the cold. I'm pretty sure the max today was -4 haha

After the kids had a run around and we had taken photos of ourselves, the city, the park and of course the squirrels, we went to find the ice skating rink! The kids, Jenelle and I all went I've skating at 'Trump' rink. It was awesome. I was terrible at it but the music was great, the crowds were friendly and it was ever so picturesque! Jenelle was a professional- doing tricks and skating backwards... Definitely going to practice when I get home haha

After our time was up we returned our skates and google mapped our way to serendipity cafe. Although the others hadn't heard of it- I was desperate to try their famous frozen hot chocolate and finally taste some New York desserts. After walking for what seemed like forever in the cold, we finally arrived. Unfortunately though, there was a tow hour wait. Because the kids were hungry, josh and Jenelle took them for inch elsewhere while Paul and I added our names to the waiting list.

To kill time we went and had lunch at the best bar ever. I had an organic chickpea and eggplant burger with sweet potato fries, while Paul went wild in the all American burger. It was one of the best lunches we've had (although I'm sure I say that everyday!) After lunch, Paul shopped up a storm in diesel, before we went back to serendipity's for dessert. There was still a half hour wait, outside in the cold, but when my name was finally called it was so worth the wait.

We both ordered a frozen hot choc (mine with a shot of coffee) a carrot cake and an Apple Poe. If you haven't yet checked out my photos I suggest you do, no words can explain the size and sugar overload we had on our table! It was the best experience as the decor was incredible and to top it off- we met the owner! In fact, he even took photos of us! Paul discussed baking and owning cafés and we heard a little bit if history about the place. So cool.

As Paul had waited over two hours to do what I wanted to do, it was only fair that we went to what was bound to be his favourite store in NYC- the NBA store! We both shopped up a storm (I got Knicks pjs and a few gifts) then headed back to our apartment to get ready for tonight!

Tonight we went to a show called Fuerza Bruta at the Daryl Roth Theatre. It was a moving show in that we didn't have seats. It was continually moving around us- very contemporary and modern, like nothing else if seen before. Girls were sliding around on a glass roof covered in water, dancing on treadmills and showering the audience with rain from the ceiling. It was just awesome! Thanks Julio and Steven for recommending it to us- we loved it.

After the show we walked outside to be greeted by a snow storm and snow covered roads. We loved it. We spent time throwing snow balls, taking photos and catching snowflakes on our tongue. I can't believe snowflakes are as pretty as pictures!

After, went to an Italian restaurant near our hotel. I wasn't hungry but Paul said his meal was incredible! After dinner we went back to the hotel to spend time with josh and Jenelle. Jenelle is an artist so she was very clever in painting each of my nails in New York sports team logos. Check out the photos- I've never seen two grown men so excited about nails!

Today was the best day! I loved every minute and I feel so thankful!

Xx
