Florence is an extremely beautiful city located in the Tuscany region of northern Italy. Unfortunately the 4 days I spent in Florence were unbearably hot with temperatures in the 100's and high humidity.. UGH! Besides hot weather Florence boasted some fantastic food that I have never had the chance to try. During my first evening in Florence I dinned on grilled octopus over sautéed fennel with a typical Tuscan red wine. The meal was delicious and definitely made my top ten list. The following day I had a pizza from the Florentine section of town across the River. The pizza was the best pizza I have had thus far on the trip. Although the pizza did not make my top ten list it was still very good. The last night in Florence I went to a hole in the wall local spot and had a typical Florentine dish that consisted of a think cut pasta with wild boar. Not only did this dish make my top ten list, but it has now settled its self into the number one spot. Good eats my friends!!!
