Samuel was horrified that I had used " Home again, home again jiggety jig" for a blog entry title but it just describes how I feel. Sure it is cold and we are in New Norfolk and we are without a home for a short while but it is good to be back in Hobart!!!!

It is unreal that we are home but we welcome the security and reality that being back here brings. Though Campbell, our prone to sickness child due to the cold weather does not fully appreciate being home yet, but we are certainly glad to be reunited with friends, our jobs (well in a couple of weeks anyway for me) and our belongings and other clothes we own (I am definitely sick of the clothes I have had to wear for the last 9 months). Our wonderful Lesley (Andrew's mum) has generously offered to share her house with us while we recover. We have returned to find our dog Skipper well looked after and Lesley's new cat named Felix also sharing the same roof as us.

On arrival back into Hobart we dropped off our luggage in New Norfolk then headed back into town to pick up Samuel from school and then take him to his soccer training in  Sandy Bay, talk about straight back into the thick of things. Tuesday after school was another session of training, Wednesday was the Grade 8 social and then Saturday was his first game with his team Beachside Under 14s they lost but we won't mention the score, though there was talk about their regular goalie being away and the other team had fielded older boys from the next team up.

We have just been taking it pretty easy still, with work for me still about a week away and another week of school holidays left. The kids have been catching up with friends. Hannah has managed to land a role in an upcoming Hobart production of "Back to the 80s". While we were away Campbell managed to achieve the highest score in the State for the English Communication Exam last year and was presented in his absence an award for his achievement at Launceston College.

Thanks again to all those that offered us friendship, accomodation, kindness, service or just a smile. You are part of our adventure!!!!  To all our family and friends that followed our travels thanks for coming for the ride. I think that what we have done has been something we will never forget and that I am now confident when the time comes "to kick my kids to the curb" when they leave home that I will be not so anxious and I will be assured that we have done all that we can for our kids. I still have time to do my last bit of mothering and have our last few years of family time before we send them out into the big wide world but that last nine months was our time together.

Thanks Andrew for the vision, I didn't quite catch it at first but it was something that we managed to make happen and we are the better for it. Thanks to the kids for putting up with us for the last 9 months.

Back at work last week and it was nice to be back to routine and friends.

PS. Should you be interested I will post more photos about different things and places, you are not obliged to look, just posting to keep it up. xxx

I've so enjoyed following your travels, and enjoyed the shots of your home country, too. Great travel blog and photos. Your family seems lovely, and I know you will all treasure these memories forever.

This was a great way to spend an afternoon, as I am dying to travel again, but unable at the moment. Many happy future travels to you all.
