I was not expecting the French to look so... French.
This little town appears to contain all the characters from the Triplets of Belleville. I like it!
Father Daude let us in to our flat. He is a self-effacing man in his forties who left a stuffed kangaroo on our mantle -- to make us feel at home, I guess. The flat itself is an old presbytery that apparently ran out of priests. It has an array of crucifixes and a little sconce for holy water. The kids assure me that we will all be safe from vampires here. I don't know about that, I have seen strange old ladies dressed in black hanging around the church. Tina says they are nuns, but I'm not so sure.
They must have had a great need for priests at some point because there are 10 beds here. There is also a double bed in a separate room at the other end of the flat. The children and I puzzled over it for some time. We figured that it belonged to a very fat priest... who snored.
