Well we have arrived at our last day in South America and we can not believe that we have been here on the continent for ... 3 and a 1/2 months. We did not make it to all the countries down here but the experiences we have had, have certainly educated us on pre-Colombian South America, the arrival of the Spanish, Colonisation, revolution, the church, the heroes, the villains, more revolutions, the arrival of more Europeans after WWII, the geography and exposed us to some wonderful and friendly people.

Our Spanish has definitely improved ...
Monday - Lunes
Tuesday- Martes
Wednesday- Miercoles
Thursday-Jueves
Friday-Viernes
Saturday- Sabado
Sunday- Domingo

One of the things I wanted to learn were the days of the week. Done! Still so much other Spanish to learn and remember though.

We have seen and experienced some amazing sights.

The boys mugging: so glad they are safe and alive.
Machupicchu
The sacred Valley
The bike ride down the road of of death
Zip lining in the sub tropics
Lake Titicaca
Colonia del Sacremento  and the drive
Valpariso

Here in Lima we have been fortunate enough to book into a large multi-floored  apartment in a suburb called San Borja, which has allowed us room to spread out and move about freely and relaxxxxx.

We managed to get back out to Miraflores, go into Lima and explored the catacombs at the San Franciscan cathedral, walked the city and check out the Inquisistion museum.

We have just had noodles for lunch and are now about to devour a cake the kids bought.

It has been a mucho grande experience here in South America, mucho gracious!

Hopefully we have learnt enough Spanish for Spain, and we hope it warms up.
