You do get sick of driving but there are some impressive and interesting sights to be seen when paying the price.
The bridge tunnel was about 13 miles (20 km) of just that, that connects the cape to the mainland yet allows their big ships and tankers to travel up Chesapeake Bay. The wind was up today so the waves were quite big out in the water.

We drove down to Virginia Beach, is that where they have one of those big golf tournaments?

Then drove back up North towards Washington DC. Slight detour to see if we could find Jamestown, site of one of the first settlements that failed. Did find Yorktown ( an old town/ fort from the war of independence) and the area where Pocahontas and her people encountered Captn. John smith and co.

And our Hilton room is not as good as our last room, I have to come out to the foyer to use the Internet. My familiar asleep, and it after midnight but they are putting clocks back an hour for the end of day light savings.

Tomorrow we will go to church then catch Barack and Michelle and have a quick look through the Smithsonian and then head back up towards NYC to get ready for our flight out on Monday.

Finally got around to buying a Lonely Planet guide to South America, we will be alright now. Lol!
don't panic we do have our accomodation booked in Uraguay.
