ArArrived at JFK Monday at 6pm local time and couldn't believe we had arrived in New York. Took us a while and a bit of money to to get ourselves and our luggage to our accommodation in Guttenberg, New Jersey. Well a couple of tunnels, freeways and toll booths later we arrive at our place to find that we are 50 meters from a fantastic view across the Hudson River to New York City. We then spent two days looking around NYC: the Empire State bldg, Grand Central station, Times Square, a harbour cruise, Central Park, the avenues, the Natural History museum and all the other recognizable icons that you see on TV and movies.

We then woke up to rain this morning and we are about to leave New Jersey to travel up New York State to Palmyra and the Finger lakes to check out the Church History sites and take in the scenery that is autumn ("Fall" to Americans). New Yorkers found it hard to understand what we were saying at times which madeq for interesting conversation.

We arrived at our Palmyra accommodation at 7.30 pm local time. Our trip up state provided hills  filled with trees with no leaves, red, green, orange, pink and brown leaves and plenty of shallow rivers and fog reminding us of scenes from the movie, "Last of the Mohicans". Up in the Catskills Mountains it began to SNOW but lucky enough it wasn't cold enough for the road to get icy. It was such a pretty ride, it was a shame it was raining and snowing, it was hard to get any decent camera shots. All up it took us about 7 hours with a few pit stops.

will update this later.
