Arrived in Shanghai on Wednesday on the fast train from Beijing. Only took 5 hours as opposed to the 13-15 hour trips to Xi'an and Beijing. We reached speeds of up to 311km.

Yesterday the kids and I went to the Shanghai Zoo. Great to see the animals especially the pandas but the enclosures are inadequate and antiquated. Funniest scene was the cobra enclosure with 2 coiled up cobra's and one lone chicken standing there with it's feet bound (sorry if that was sad or offensive to anyone) but at least they are getting live food.

One last full day today and then off to LA tomorrow.
