Today is our last day in Athens we are going to do our washing and tidying up everything.
Grant & Geoff went and saw the changing of the guards, without yesterdays protest crowds. Very moving. came back to hotel, took our lives in our own hands crossing streets, as everyone not only drives on the opposite side of the road to us, but they must be all colour blind as traffic lights mean nothing, green means go as does red.
Finished washing just in time to farewell Di & Grant as they return to Australia.
Went shopping in Argo with Emma Williamson before she returns to England, looking to get a couple of gifts for her English friends.
Had lunch near the museum and walked the streets before we stumbled on a wine bar. Partook of a couple of wines, very nice, and then continued around the streets.
Came back to hotel, farewelled Emma, and booked hotel accommodation in Rome. Hotel is called Hotel Galles. Lest we have somewhere to go.
Relaxing day in a very busy but very safe city.
Lovely people, lovely dogs, lovely pigeons & lovely cats.
Found out yesterday Athens is built on ancient ruins. This can be seen when we look thru gates on vacant blocks of land. We can only marvel at the skills of these people who lived thousand of years ago.
Off for tea now, looking at getting fish & chips, good for the waist line again.

Hi Denise and Geoff. I love following your blog. The photo's are great, you will have so many wonderful memories. All is good here, MO'R is still finishing off things but he is nearly there and off on a 10 day cruise next week to help him switch off. Chef Phil is proud surrogate dad of 8 gorgeous little piglets born on Tuesday afternoon. VERY VERY cute. Enjoy your time in Italy, looking forward to more photos. x Anne
