April 3 - by Emma

Today I woke up and went fishing before we left for Mississippi. We got caught on the bottom a lot so than finally we had to stop. We saw 2 dolphins in the water while we were fishing. When we were done fishing we fed the extra bait to the fish and to a heron that was watching us. They really liked that! Then we went back to RV. At the RV we got ready to drive to our next state: Mississippi.  On the drive we stopped at Wal-Mart to stock up. We got all kinds of goodies. Then we went back to the RV to go to our campsite: it was about 9 minutes away. When we got to the campsite we went on a bike ride. On the bike ride we met people who let us ride their kayaks in the water for a little bit. It was really fun, but I saw a snake in the water that was really slow. Then we went back to the RV to gather up sticks and leaves for the next time we make a fire.  I got 2 mosquito bites while we were looking for sticks. They were really itchy.  Then we went in the RV eat dinner.  It was really good.

Today I woke up, and it was raining so much! This is our last day in Mississippi because we leave for Louisiana tomorrow morning.  Once it cleared up we went to the dock to go fishing, but we had no luck again… so my Supper Duper Dad went to the RV and got out the spectacular kayaks.  The water looked really red.  I was kayaking and I thought I saw an alligator, but my dad said I saw squirrel. Then I went back to the dock and my dad got me a Pop Tart.  After that I took my dad out on the kayak, and we saw a bird that was catching a decent meal.   We also got something for fishing that we found in the water. We also saw a huge boat with a crane that was digging the bottom of the gulf so the water would be deeper.  Then we went back to the dock, and I was catching krill/shrimp with my sisters.  I also added a baby fish to the collection.  Then we went back to our campsite to eat dinner. I had a fishy day!

We have now seen the Gulf of Mexico three times, in three different states: Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. My favorite state was Florida because the beach had lots of special things. The sand was white, the water was clear, and the sky was amazing. In Alabama the beach was cool but not as good as Florida's. The water was dark and the sand was regular color. The beach in Mississippi was cool because it had lots of animals. Snails, crabs, fish, krill. It was also an also a good place for kayaks.
