(entry by Katelyn)

Today I woke-up and had to write in my journal.  I was very tired, and it took me about 1 hour to finish writing!  Next I had a great pancake breakfast.  After that I played with Emma for 30 minutes.

We then went to a Ranger program, but we could not do it because it involved walking and Emma had a hurt knee.   Instead we went fishing at Lake McDonald. Again, I caught no fish, but Madison caught a very good size trout.  Unfortunately Madison had to throw it back because it was a cut-throat trout, which is a protected fish that you can not keep.  Emma and my Dad were out in the kayak for a long time while we were fishing.

After fishing, we went back to the pool.  The pool was very cold, but we met a nice girl who showed us karate.  I liked the girl.  We then took a shower and ate dinner.  I had a vegetarian bean burger with baked beans, and then pie for dessert.  Madison did not like the pie because it had a buttery crust, but I loved it because it was so sweet.  Then I went to bed.

One of my goals was to catch enough fish to make a nice dinner. Unfortunately I am not the fishing master and therefore, did not catch even one fish. However, I loved the solitude of fishing with Madison. Fishing challenges my need to move fast. There is nothing fast or urgent with fishing.

If you have only limited time here, East Glacier is a better part of the park to stay at.
