Today I woke-up and the RV was moving. The RV was moving because we had to go on a Junior Ranger hike that started early, and it would take a wile to get ready. We packed 6 waters, 4 granola bars, and a camera. We hiked only 4 miles in total to get to Needles Eye, which is a sandstone formation.
On the way, we saw a buffalo resting in the hills, and also lots of prairie dogs. The hike was not hard, but there were some steep hills. We also stopped at a creek. The creek had lots of tadpoles and little fish. The sand was very soft!
When we got to the Needles Eye, we took some pictures and had a snack before we started to walk back.
On our way back we picked some sage. It smelled very good! Also on our way back we saw a group of people riding horses. We got to the RV just in time because right when we started driving it started to rain. We were hungry so we ate a yogurt while my Dad drove.
When we got to the campground we played on the swings while my Dad got us lunch. After lunch we went into town to make a reservation to go horseback riding in the morning. I'm so excited! We also saw a yarn sale in a store, so we went there and I bought paper for a scrapbook. Then we drove back to the campground and ate dinner, and then took a shower.
The morning hike was the best part of the day for me.
