One of our shortest distances between stops was from Ulladulla to Batemans Bay, approximately 50kms.
Batemans Bay is another popular coastal town that lies at the mouth of the Clyde River on a bay dotted by small islands. We found plenty to do with short drives to the many rolling surf beaches, a drive to Mogo, which has a quaint village atmosphere and plenty of village style shopping including antique and collectable stores, and of course plenty of cafes.
There was one little "slip up" during our stay here. We were walking through the car park to the shopping plaza and I slipped in some water. Thank God I was able to grab hold of Ray's jumper, who I might add wondered what the hell was happening. It is a wonder I didn't bring us both down. We laugh about it now but it wasn't funny at the time. Being only in thongs, somehow my toe, the "little pig that stayed home" toe, bent back under and I was sure it was broken. I struggled to walk for a couple of days and still have a very bruised little toe, at least I have something to show for all the pain.
Although we are still loving our trip, we are getting very excited about getting home. We have missed our family and friends and look forward to seeing them all soon.
