Where I stayed
Dongara Denison Beach Holiday Park
We had planned to travel to Geraldton but when we arrived at Port Denison we immediately decided that this little place needed some further investigation and we were not disappointed. The town is the self proclaimed 'Lobster capital' of the state. Dongarra's main street is lined with magnificent Moreton Bay fig trees.
Some of the lobster boats were just coming in with their catch and we spent some time drooling over the many tubs of fresh lobsters set for the Geraldton Rock Lobster Corporation.
We booked into the Beach Holiday Park, alias Tania Jessen. Tan had given us their Big 4 Membership card where you get a 10% discount. I thought they would ask me the post code of Torquay so rang Tan, no answer, rang Jodie, who could not remember the post code, finally rang Narelle who gave me the code but did not know Tan and Phil's street number in Riverside Drive. I need not have worried because when I presented the card all the details were on the computer (didn't know that at the time). It is a lovely park right on the beach, probably the best we have stayed in to date. Another great sunset and another great day.
