Port Lincoln Tourist Park

Passed our first vehicle today - whoo hoo!! even though it was only an old farm truck.
Lincoln Cove at Port Lincoln is the base for Australia's largest tuna fleet and tuna-farming industry. It is also the home of the famous racehorse Makybediva, whose owner "Tuna Tony" as he his known over here operates one of the largest tuna farming operations in the area.
The caravan park was a little "tricky" to get around and tested the friendship at one stage. By time we settled we had pulled into 3 different sites. We settled in for the night and so had the wind. The park is right on the waterfront and the wind was coming from the east. I worried all night that the antenna would be gone (it is still there, I might add), then I remembered some of the things the lady in the Semaphore Caravan park had told me and thought that the roof would be gone in the morning.
At the wharf we watched the fishing boats unloading their catch onto semi trailers loaded with bins. It was unbelievable the amount of tuna that was unloaded from the one trawler.
The rest of the day we spent having a look around the area and we are now ready to move on to Streaky Bay tomorrow.

Hi Maddie,
Thanks for your message, we have not had any cover for the last couple of days so I am a bit slow getting back to you. We are having a great time but missing you all. Look forward to hearing from you again.
