The trip from the Innes National Park to Port Pirie was great. We stopped for lunch at Moonta Bay, a beautiful little coastal town. Port Broughton was also another place we would have liked to have stayed.
We stayed the night at the caravan park at Port Pirie. The park is situated on the Pirie River and was very nice but the first thing we noticed was unless you had two or three dogs hanging off a leash no-one talked to you. People paraded their prize possessions up and down the park waiting for other owners to comment on their beautiful dogs. I am sure if you saw these people walking up the street without their dogs their arm would be extended at a 45 degree angle. Everybody walks the same and with the same pride as a mother walks with her new born in its pram.
It was a beautiful evening and we were looking forward to sitting outside and enjoying the peace and quiet (dogs were very good) but not so the mosquitoes, we have never seen mosquitoes like it and of course insect spray was not on our list of requirements when we packed. We killed off a few in the van and put the airconditioner on for the first time.
Tomorrow we travel to Port Augusta then down the Eyre Pensinsula.
