Hey, hey!
Travel Blog is still up and running it just darn slow! Let continue shall we? Just for a note to all readers that it has been sometime since we have been in Singapore so our recollection may be a bit poor.
Waking up the next morning we had some lunch and chilled with some of our dorm mates and our hostel host David and his girlfriend Hitomi. After some schmoozing we were invited to go on the town for a night bowling, eating and of course drinking by our David! His conditions were we pay our own way but he will supply the beer.. Ummmmm OKAY! To kill the rest of the day, David took us and our new friend Shirley to some neat shopping areas and some pretty nice food courts with some good cheap eats! In Singapore, electronics such as phones, TV and of course video games are very cheap. With Wylez and Eric being such huge children, both bought a Nintendo DS to which they both play endless hours before going to bed every night. Nerds... Since we were running out of time Wylez and Eric had to put the DS`s on order and pick them up the next day.
Upon arriving back at the hostel, David had arranged a private taxi to take us and Shirley to this huge bowling alley complete with a large arcade. Apparently, this bowling alley is where a lot of the major bowling events in the world are held. Crazy stuff! So it`s all good and we decide to play a little 10 pin and have a few beers. The first game, if we remember correctly, went to Marty with a last frame victory over Eric and Wylez coming in last. A Wong brothers duel if you will. To make things a little more interesting we put a little wager on the second game where the unfortunate soul who lost would have to get up on a table and dance for our sadistic amusement! Dance monkey dance!!! With a heart pounding finish David took the final game with both Wylie and Hitomi coming in last. YAY! With a breath a courage and some alky they both got up and danced like they have never danced before! Heh what a bunch of good sports!
After some good fun bowling, David took us next door to this crazy, crazy all you can friggin eat hotpot for $12 CDN. So far on this trip (We are nearing the end of Japan) this was still one of the best meals we have had. All different types of meats, seafood, skewers, eggs, veggies, etc. All thrown into our hotpot (with grill) and consumed in large quantities by all! We were all s fun afterwords that we started to feel a little sick. So after we all took turns going for walks we headed to the arcade for a quick game or two and head back to the hostel to pass out!
Upon waking up late the next day, we found out Marty had thrown out his departure card. This is a big no no as you need it to basically get out of Singapore. David being a great guy, called the immigration board informed them and basically got everything straightened out. Only problem was we had to stay an extra day which was no problem at all because David ummm "rearranged" some of his other guests accommodations so we could stay there another night. Wylie and Eric went to pick up their video games but there was a different guy working there so they had to wait till the evening. To pass the time Shirley took us to Shanghai museum. After getting lost we finally found it. Some neat statues, relics and other stuff. Nothing too crazy. We wanted to spend more time but had to hurry back to the hostel in a cab as David had arranged another private taxi for us to go the Night Safari. In his words "Do not tell anyone you have been to Singapore if you do not go to the Night Safari!"
The Night Safari was amazing. It is basically a zoo at nighttime. They have this tram that takes you around and shows you all the different animals at night. Some are in special "environmental" cages that simulates the dead of night as that is the only times they are active. We got to see all types of animals like Lions, Tigers but no bears! Oh My! So many more animals to say but I cant mention them all. One that was cool was the nocturnal flying squirrels. It was awesome watching it jump from tree to tree! Funny note, Eric was hanging his feet outside of the tram and his sandal fell off. The dumb fool had to jump off, grab his sandal (it is dark, remember that) and run to get back to his seat. Priceless! After spending the whole night at the Safari we headed back home to sleep and for our final day in Singapore.
Nothing too much happened the final day as we were all a bit drained. Eric fiddled with his DS the whole day having trouble making it work. Marty and Steve walked around and just chilled. Wylie went to go visit his family. In the evening, David and Hitomi took us to his favorite Thai restaurant. We had this amazing seafood fried rice and these spicy prawn sashimi! An amazing time in Singapore. A big thanks to David and Hitomi for helping us get our feet settled in SE Asia!
So the next entry with include our travels to and from Malaysia and onward! As always we are

you guys are hilarious!!!
Sounds like good times. Glad Eric wasn't eaten by a bengal tiger while getting his shoe back! By the way, I just figured out that Eric knows my neighbour Graham Leggatt from HS.
