In a desperate attempt to regain our wedding bodies and make up for our recent lifestyle of combining enormous amounts of barbeque with sitting in the car for hours, we did an overnight backcountry hike in Big Bend National Park. Day one's hike included an elevation gain of 3000 feet, and we had to pack in all of our water, adding about 10 pounds to our already heavy packs. I cursed and complained loudly and often for most (okay, all) of the way up, but when we finally reached the summit, the view was pretty amazing. And check out the photos of our new friends below!
