Where I stayed
And we can feel the sunshine - it is over 100 degrees here and evidently does not cool off at night. This evening we braved the heat for a 90 minute ghost tour of Charleston. Highlights included a pre-Revolutionary dungeon from the 17th century and watching all the tourists jump around when "the state bird" (known in other regions as "the giant cockroach") attempted to join the group. After that exciting adventure, Mike and I went for seafood. To start, we ordered the Oyster Sampler, which we were told offered a good opportunity to taste oysters from both the West and the East coasts. When it came out, the waitress carefully explained to us where all the oysters were from: some from Washington, some from the Gulf (pulled out in their infancy to avoid the oil), and another four from....wait for it.....British Columbia. Nothing like traveling to another country and the other side of the continent only to receive food sourced from where you left...but it was nice to have a little taste of home :).
