We left our house this morning about 8am... a little later than we wanted to, nevertheless we did make it to St. Louis....which was our first stop on our journey out west. We had tickets to go up the Gateway Arch at 2pm...we just made it. Even after the Garmin directed us to a closed road due to flooding...yes the Mississippi was very high...and driving through 4th of July festivities. It was crazy for a bit but Josh did awesome despite the stiff neck from stress.

As most of you know I was a little hesitant to go up in the arch, I was very happy I decided to go. The ride up was not so bad, and Josh's hand made it although his fingers did turn purple from me holding on so tight. :)  Once we arrived to the top it was awesome....the view was amazing. Ty was very excited to see the Cardinal's playing and did not want to come down as he had such a great view of the game...we heard that they one against the Brewer's. Amberly enjoyed the view but was also a little nervous on the ride up and down.  We left downtown at the same time the Cardinal's game was letting out....let's just say we were the only car that was pulling a camper. We felt a little out of place!  Once we were out of the city we headed to a little place called Fitz's. It's a restaurant and brewery.....no not beer.... root beer! As we ate dinner we could watch them bottle the root beer....we got there a little late...all we got to see was them cleaning up! It was still a very cool place.. I would totally go back!

After Fitz's we headed even farther west to Graham Cave State Park, MO to set up camp for the night.

Anyway, day one was awesome...Can't wait to see Kansas!!!

Wow this is so exciting. I talked about going down to Florida to visit my Parents and brother and sisters. Thought maybe to map out our trip and maybe stop at different palces along the way. Wish I knew what route we took when I first came to the United States from Miami to Ohio.

Have a great time. be safe, pictures are so awesome. Keep them coming. I will let Eliana and Dylan check things out in the morning. Looking forward to reading more about your adventure.

It looks like you guys are off to a great start! I love the pictures and the entries are way more creative than mine :-) I don't blame you about the arch and don't know if I could do it!
