India rolls by persuasive and varied: a boy goatherd leads his flock on a dusty hill; humble huts of brick or mud or straw dot a landscape otherwise void of humanity; the parched desert suddenly bursts green and yellow at some irrigated fields; a small child leans against his mother's sari while she picks fruit from a tree.
