We arrived to Cameron Highland in the early afternoon after traveling 5-6 hours from Taman Negara. The mountains were covered with not only jungle but tea plantations and vegetable farms, in different shades of green. Could rent a taxi driver for two hours, who took us to the Bharat tea plantation and to a strawberry farm being a guide in the meantime. The view from the tea plantation
For dinner we tried a local speciality called Steamboat, a kind soup that you basically cook for yourself. Like a "chineese fondue"... You get the ingredients and a hot soup base. The waitress assisted us, otherwise we would have been in trouble :)
4*4 tour and jungle trekking:
On tuesday we went to an organized trip. The day started a bit hard after a flat tire and with 12 people in a military jeep, but turned out to be great. After 20 min. driving on an extremely bumpy offroad we walked in the jungle
ca. 1 hour to find the biggest flowers in the world, the parasitic Rafflesia close to 1m.
The other highlight of the trip was the mossy forest, with the insect-eating flowers. It was raining, which made the forest look even more mysterious.
In the evening we met with all the others (from UK / France / Singapore/ Hong Kong) from the daytrip and made them try the steamboat. It was a funny night !!!
