Where I stayed
arrival to KL after an ok night of sleep on the train. when we finally started moving, that is. didn't get stopped when we crossed the malay border though. where's my stamp on my pp?? not sure what was biting me last night. will definitely have to spray bug spray on me all day today. think singapore actually sprays the whole island or something. or maybe the slightly brown sheets on the train is telling me something...
definitely not in SG anymore. not as friendly. ppl aren't as willing to help. feelings of getting screwed over. esp. lunch. nothing on the menu was over $5. i had to pay 8.50. what gives?? and the drinks...dayam! was tiny and as expensive as singapore. where's the cheap food that everyone is talking about???
patronus towers was a big advertisement for the patronus corp.- oil and natural gas co. free so it was ok. but woulda been pissed if i had to pay. 5 min. ad with 3-d glasses of how awesome co. is. great view but you can't go anywhere else but the damn bridge. you can't even take pics outside the bridge even though other ppl were taking some. when asked, was told that she was staff. staff can't go where visitors are and vice versa. talk about a military state. sounds like they're part of the bush family. :X
hostel is pretty shitty. toilets/showers situation leaves much to be desired. floor is always wet. there's no room for you to hang your clothes. so you've gotta walk around the hostel with just your towel. wouldn't be so bad if the female dorms weren't on the second floor. with the stairs on the other side of the hostel.
but it's doable. after all, i'm only here for the night. at least it's cheaper than the one in sg. funny thing was this morning during breakfast, woman from copenhagen (with twin 6-yr-olds) kept on talking about how great this hostel was, how much of a shithole the place she stayed at in sg. and how much she hated bangkok. don't want to know how bad those other places were if she thinks this place is great.
guy working reception is wearing my flip-flops. just went to see him because i can't open my room. he's outside watering the plants, wearing green flip-flops. i'm the only one with green flip-flops. when i was told that i couldn't walk in the house with shoes on, i put them under the shoe rack. they're not there. AND I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH GREEN FLIP-FLOPS!!!! so while i'm stepping on the wet, perfect-breeding-grounds-for-athlete's-foot bathroom floors, he's watering plants in my fucking flip-flops!
ok, breathe may, breathe. you're only going to be here for a night. i decide to wear my flip-flop the rest of the time i'm at the hostel. if i get kicked out, i get kicked out. but i'm not going to get athlete's foot from this rathole hostels. *grinds teeth*
think of something else: still not sure what to do this weekend. was thinking of thailand if i can afford it. glenn keeps on talking about the beaches. would be nice to relax on one of those. i definitely need to relax. in a place where green flip-flops are allowed.
found out i've got 129 HKD, 126 SGD, 4870 RMB, 250 USD and 54 MYR left for my trip. i don't want to really spend any more money since i don't know how but i managed to spend all the sg money i had for my indian flight. i don't really have enough money now to go to india. unless i break some of my other money. plus i still need to buy my indian visa. which is still another 120 sgd. where the hell did all my money go? i didn't even have to pay for accomodations! but i guess if today was any sign, $100 of any money will go rapidly before i even know it. *cries*
