nothing went as planned. but what really does whenever you're dealing with kids? all i knew was that that class went by in a blur. i handed all of them a musical instrument (xylophone, drum or tamborine), and the rest of the class was full of loud bangings and kids laughing and screaming. i know it was cruel to do that but what do they expect when they refuse to give me proper training?
before the start of my class, i asked tracy when the helen doron training will be. i said that i've been here for almost a month now, and despite me asking, i still haven't gone to training. said that i appreciate her videotaping my class but feel that i would vastly improve if i went to training. she gave me a blank stare then called bob. five minutes later, she said that because i'll only be here for three months, bob doesn't feel it's necessary for me to go to training. i grinned since i knew that they were going to use that excuse even before i boarded the plane. nodded then said i'll talk to justin. then said that it's a shame that wuhan will not experience a fully trained may as a teacher. tracy said she can understand that it'll make me more comfortable as a teacher if i'm trained. i said that it'll make the parents more comfortable. she didn't say anything else to me for the rest of the day.
will have to wait till after the weekend to have a chat with justin. i'm curious to hear what he'll say about this latest development. i would be pissed if i was coming in with the attitude of me doing them a favor. but i'm just trying to make my experience in china as pleasant as it can be. looks like it's going to be a short one. ;-)
