I had an aisle seat at the expense of giving up my seat in Ecomony Plus. I thought that freedom of movement was more important than a little extra leg room. I still do prefer the aisle seat but there were moments on the flight that I was regretting that extra leg room. As soon as it was allowed, the guy in front of me promptly leaned his chair completely back. This didn't affect my leg room but it did make it difficult for me to use the tray table to write and to hold a book. It certainly didn't help while I was eating.
I'd like to say that I took the high road and didn't retaliate. I'd like to say that. I can't. I took the passive aggressive route and although I suffered in silence, I made sure that he suffered, too. Every time I got out of my chair, I made sure to grab his headrest for stability, which jostled him and roused him from his slumber. I jammed my knees into the back of the seat - and thus his back - while I was reading. I slammed my tray table up and down more than necessary during the flight. Yes, I figured since he was an inconsiderate jerk, I could be one, too.
