Our lodge fixed another good breakfast today. This time is was a quiche plus crunchy granola. I really like the breakfasts here.

We went to see the Hoh Rain Forest this morning. There are really big trees here. We saw a huge Sitka Spruce tree that is about 550 years old and over 250 feet tall! That's as high as a 25 story building. The rainforest is a really different type of forest than what we are used to. Everything is green and mossy. We walked through the Hall of Mosses and there was green moss hanging all over every single branch.

My favorite part of the day was when we explored the tide pools at Kalaloche Beach. We spent most of the afternoon there. Tide pools happen when the tide goes out, but some water stays in lots of rocks that you can walk on. We were lucky to find a big rock with over 12 starfish! We also found lots of green anemones.

The other thing I likes a lot about this beach was that there were a lot of logs to build around in the sand. It's fun making a shelter.

We had dinner out at a Mexican restaurant in Forks-we weren't sure how good it could be, but it was in the guidebook. The food was delicious! I had a shrimp burrito, Mom had chicken flautas and Dad had enchilada suiza. There was way too much food so we brought back a lot of leftovers.

We head out tomorrow morning to Seattle and then home.

Welcome home Mueller girls! :)

I love exploring tide pools because you never know what you will discover. I saw a trapped leopard sea eel this summer in Maui. We thought it was a poisonous sea snake at first - had to google later to determine what it truly was!
