Today began our journey west into British Columbia. We crossed into pacific time. We left Jasper about 10am and our first stop was a visitor center at Mt. Robson, which is the highest point in the Canadian Rockies (3954 meters-I don't know how many miles that is right now). We stopped to eat our picnic sandwiches and stuff at Slim Creek, which I've renamed "Mosquito Creek". The bugs were really ferocious even after we sprayed Deep Woods Off all over ourselves. Mom wouldn't even sit down to eat her sandwich but kept pacing around trying to keep the bugs off. The good news is, it wasn't raining.

We reached Prince George ("PG" is what they call it here),a pretty big town in Northern British Columbia, later in the afternoon and stopped at another Visitor Center. While we were there Dad found some campsites that looked like good spots with lakes further along, so we decided to move on. I want to stay at a lake so I can go swimming.

We found Sandy's Resort on Francois Lake, which is outside the town of Burns Lake, around 7pm. We had the tent area to ourselves and pitched the tent not too far from the beach. I found some good driftwood and built a little shelter (Mom said I could go on "Man vs. Wild"). It was too late to swim, so we built a campfire and roasted hotdogs then marshmallows. Yum!

Mom wants me to mention that the wildflowers along the roadsides are really pretty-a lot of purple, pink and white.

Too bad about all that rain and not being able to take the boat ride, but then there is campfire , roasted hotdogs and Marschmallows, and of course wildflowers along the roadside. I hope you are feeling better, you said Dad already did. Tell Dad I love his har.

I am such a dork - thought you were roasting a carrot in the campfire!
