So with this in mind, I shall endeavour to make this as interesting as possible...no guarantees.
From Maitland I travelled south via Minlaton and Warooka with the intention of staying on the west coast, but the roads that side are dirt and I have had more than my share of corrugated dirt roads during this trip to give that idea a BIG miss. So I turned east towards Yorketown, Edithburgh and on to Coobowie, a sleepy touristic town on the Yorke Peninsular offering sandy beaches, great fishing and a wonderful laid back atmosphere for a peaceful holiday..
After my night in Coobowie it was a very short drive along the coast to Stansbury,Port Vincent, and finally Port Julia where I camped for a few days. This was a great little spot within walking distance to the beach that the dogs thoroughly enjoyed, however there are no shops at all so a supply of food and drink is of the utmost importance before arriving there...unless of course you live in a caravan and can jump in your car and drive to the nearest town 12 kms away, The camp grounds are free and there is a flushing toilet...a rarity for most free spots.
