During the drive from Elliston to Coffin Bay I was confronted with sheep being herded on the major highway...the owners had put a sign on the side of the road to slow vehicles down thankfully, otherwise, anyone going a few kilometres too quick, may have had a couple of free lamb chops going cheap. I've seen heaps of kangaroos and other animals on the roads, but this was my first encounter with sheep...

Further down the road I came across an old church standing in the middle of nowhere and another sign depicting...wood fired bread. Mmmmmmm had to stop and buy some of that. Real bread yeah! With the smell of fresh bread rolls in the cupboard I set off towards Coffin Bay.

I so wanted to stay in Coffin Bay for New Year's eve but this wasn't to be. This beautiful picturesque spot near the National Park boasts around 600 odd residents, however it is a very popular spot and during school holidays around 3000 people stay here which meant the only Caravan Park was booked out. Disappointed, I did the usual drive around and then took off towards Port Lincoln which was the next closet town.
